Patient Endurance
The weather forecast was saying snow. I was so hoping they were right as I’ve visited this location on 3 other occasions hoping for snow but each time been disappointed. It’s a tricky one as you need to get there before they close the roads. They close them on the long weekend in June every year for the ski season. Driving along the road to Falls Creek the temperature was drop very quickly. Small flakes of snow was falling from the sky hitting the wind screen of our car. Driving up the long and windy road we reached Falls Creek. The snow was thick on the ground and on parked cars at the ski resort. A magical sight. We continued the drive for another 15 or so minutes. The open pains were heavy with snow. The wind was blowing hard. The temperature at this stage had dropped to 2deg, but feels like -7deg. Yes that is very cold. We arrived at our location, grabbed the camera bag and tripod and marched toward Wallace Hut. It was snowing lightly at this point. We were protected by the mountain side from the wind. It was so peaceful. I have a saying, “He who Endures Conquers”. It may have taken 4 attempts but I got the snow shot of Wallace Hut.
