STORY:

Little White Shack, Berg, Lofoten Island, Norway

There’s shacks like this one scattered throughout Lofoten Island. Some are used for living, others as storage. This one was old and looked like it was used for storage. The character, the charm. So photogenic. Surround by two feet of snow and the fjord back drop, what a sight. I noticed that all shacks, homes, etc were painted in either red, yellow or white, and some green. I’ve since learned that, in the days gone by, the colour of a house signified the families wealth. Red being the not so wealthy, yellow some what wealthy, and white being wealth. I guess it some what still applies today. There must’ve been wealthy people that lived in this one. Very interesting.
